In this message Reggie Kelly and Travis Bennett seek to provide clarity to the timing and nature of the “the Day of the Lord.” Specific attention is given to understanding errors in the doctrine of a pre-tribulation rapture, along with the accompanying assertions that the return of Christ is “imminent,” and that Israel and the Church are entirely separate entities. Reggie reads from this article during the message: The Rapture Question Decisively Answered by the Timing of the Day of the Lord.
The Way the Prophets Understood Prophecies of the Antichrist
I‘ve referred to this before, but it has been too little noticed how not only later prophets such as Jeremiah and Daniel, but Isaiah himself was aware of a typology within his own prophecy that was known to point to a greater consummation beyond the contemporary threat (in his case, […]
Antiochus was Never a Little Horn
I don’t think anyone’s calling attention to something that should be in the first place most obvious, but have never seen a commentator even question it. It’s like the emperor that had no clothes, or the forest that gets lost for the over focus on the trees. We should be […]
Why is Eschatology Important?
Brethren, we need teachers that are also prophetic, not just in what they teach, but in what they “see.” It is one thing to answer objections and opposing views tit for tat in point and counterpoint argumentation from the evidence of the scriptures. It is another thing to make a […]
Rebuilding on the Temple Mount
When the temple will stand again, it will appear by every outward reckoning that the testimony of prophecy was completely misinterpreted and misapplied by the apocalyptic ‘doomsayers’. Tragically, it will also be the triumph of humanistic Jewish orthodoxy that exalts the latent powers of the first creation, as it denies original sin, the virgin birth, and the ‘pessimism’ of their own prophets concerning the nature and limits of fallen human nature (Ps 14:2-3; 51:5; Jer 13:23; 17:9).
We will appear to have the egg on our faces. Yet, it will be the prelude to the revelation of the mystery of iniquity, and for that there must be another temple.
Since Christ cannot come until this mystery of iniquity is first revealed in the incarnation of Satan in the Man of Sin, I hold that it is a church come to term, in intercessory travail for Israel and the glory of God in the earth that will receive Michael’s help to the final dislodging of that which holds back the coming in of the kingdom (Rev 12:10). All things necessary to constrain that kind of prevailing prayer, despite the awful cost of what the break through will mean for the population of the earth (Rev 12:12), should be a principal focus of our corporate prayer, even prayer for such prayer as characterized Daniel’s strong intercessions that received the angelic assistance recorded in Dan 10. That’s what I’m talking about.
Now is Come… the Kingdom of Our God, and the Power of His Christ
Two Questions: Why it is that you say the kingdom cannot come in its fullness so long as Satan retains access to heaven? We know that Satan accuses the saints in heaven but why is that related to the mystery of lawlessness being fully revealed on earth? Let me build […]
How Shall We Then Live [Video]
This message is from the 2012 Olivet Convocation in Ohio. This was not the last message of the conference (it was next to last), but it was the message that asked the question that every conference should ask: so what? How do we live this out? Phil Norcom opened with passages in Mt 24, 25 and Joel 3. A blessed dialogue among brothers ensued.
